Looking to take a buddy out for her birthday. She is very into rock and metal, so thought a cool themed bar may be good. Saw a few on google (himawari, crawdaddy, etc) but haven’t been to any before.
Any good experiences or favorites?

I went to a place called Bauhaus in Roppongi for my friend’s birthday. They have an in-house band that takes requests. More classic rock stuff than metal. You have to make reservations in advance though.
Meteora is on my list to try. They also have darts, wrestling on TV, and vegan food.

They sometimes have live shows in the left hand side bar. I’ve even played there a few times.

Mother is OK. Used to be good but they have some rude af bartenders now. Music is also extremely loud with a bad quality sound system. Bring earplugs if you have sensitive hearing.
Bar Land (Ikebukuro, quieter but almost no tourists, mainly locals)
Shinjuku is the place to go. Shibuya sucks for rock and metal unless it’s for a live show.

There’s a small one in Golden Gai, name is Deathmatch in Hell. Crowded, seems popular compared to the other bars in that area.
