Hello fellow gaijins
Short questions for dog owners. What do you do in the summer? Do you leave your buddy in the crate alone without AC or take him with you in the bedroom?
Background: we for a jack Russel and living in a 3LDK house. Got the crate in the living room but didn’t really plan to keep the AC running through the night. Was thinking of buying a bigger transport box and take her with us in the bedroom

Mine sleeps in my bed. If you don’t want him in your bed, can you at least put the crate in your bedroom? I definately wouldn’t leave him alone in a hot room.
Our dog is old and can’t do the stairs at our house. So, she gets her own room downstairs with AC. If you can bring your dog to your room and don’t want to pay extra for the AC cost, you might as well move her to the more comfortable room
I own 2 dogs and both sleep in my room, sometimes on their bed, sometimes with me. I keep the AC on 24/7, so if the living room is too hot, they just chill in the bedroom.
Is your dog destructive? I have a dog and I can’t imagine keeping her in a crate for half the day. Either way, if you’re hot, your dog is likely twice as hot, so if you’re not going to use AC then maybe a good fan in a smaller room might help
I’ve got a Siberian husky, we keep the ac running most the day and leave the door to the bedroom open so it gets cold and at night we just turn it down and leave our room open so the cold air can get in.
Jack Russels need A LOT OF DAILY EXERCISE. Locking the dog up in a crate is torture. You don’t deserve a dog.
