  1. How do y’all study kanji with vocab? Do you just like do sentence mining or do y’all have a certain vocab list and as you learn the vocab you also learn the readings and the meanings?

  2. お客さんの手前もある -> I’ve got clients to deal with.

what does the 手前 here means? I thought it generally refers to ‘in front of’, looked up a few dictionary and couldn’t find answer.

  3. What does the ── in the following sentence highlight? I encounter these frequently in light novels?

    人間の腕の可動領域を超えるという剣技、連撃剣──しかも二刀流。驚愕のステータスを持つ戦帝といえども、残像が残像を生む超高速の剣技を防御するのに必死の様子だった。

  4. I’m reading a japanese kids book and it says, 私たちはうつくしい世界に行きました。あなたのまわりにある。
Why is aru used here not iru? given that the world is alive with things.

  5. Someone can help me understand the verb structure of this sentence that i found on a manga that i’m trying to read in japanese?

    バスケ部に入部届け出しときました

I don’t undertand the “しときました” structure and can’t recognize if it’s a verb entirely written in kana or it’s part of a larger structure that include 部届け出 (that I’ve considered by itself as the noun that means report)

  6. In the sentence “後二日でバーゲンがなくなる。”, should 後二日 be read こうににち, ごふつか, or あとふつか? Or something else?

Would 後二日 always be read the same way or are there multiple possible readings?

  7. Is formality the only difference between the 走ってる and 走っている?

  8. 見せる vs 示す. In genki, both of them have the translation ‘to show’. Does anyone know the difference?

  9. Is there a term similar to 「夜更け」that describes the early hours in the morning (pre-sunrise). Like, 4am-6am?

  10. so kunyomi Onyomi can combine to form new word without taking any markers too, like よじゅう(夜中)
