In 1903, the legendary Japanese naturalist Kumagusu Minakata (1867-1941) collected Hachiku bamboo, which blooms once every 120 years. This year, in Wakayama Prefecture where he lived, Hachiku bamboo is blooming for the first time in 120 years.

I use those Nitori N-Cool stuff. works pretty well. We also replace all our sheets every late spring and late fall.
We have warm- and cold-weather sets of bedding (though the futons stay the same). We don’t have any brand preferences, though, and simply buy what’s cheapest and fits our requirements at the moment.
I find the summer/cool undersheets particularly comfortable.
