Hello,
Apologies if this is not the correct place to ask. I have read the FAQs regarding this, but wanted some more details.
I am planning on traveling to Japan from Canada for about a month. For 2 weeks I will be looking to work (7.5 hours per day) remotely at my current company back in Canada.
As this appears to be a violation of the Japanese immigration laws, do I need to apply for something so that I can work for the few weeks or do I just have to file something during tax season back in Canada? I assume being paid on a salary compared to a hourly basis would not matter, I would just have to calculate the amount I earned while I was here.
Thank you,
edit: violation of immigration law, not tax law

As this appears to be a violation of the Japanese taxation laws, do I need to apply for something so that I can work for the few weeks or do I just have to file something during tax season back in Canada? It’s violating immigration law, not tax law. If you’re caught, you’re going home and probably not going to be allowed back again.
