What TV Shows do you people use/used for comprehensible input?

Short Story long, comprehensible input is the theory that u learn a language mostly through understanding content intuitively.

Right now, i’m avoiding using Animes as a source of content since i’ve been watching them it’s been over a decade, so it makes me quite judgemental for the fact that if the anime is actually good or not.

I hugely believe that live action TV Shows are a better option. Right now, the only one i’ve watched is the netflix adult comedy called “The naked director”.

Do u ppl have any more recommendations? Any sort of comedy stuff would be appreciated. Feel free to recommend non-comedy stuff if you also like any.

  1. You can try watching Japanese youtube channels with street interviews, actually; they are surprisingly often kind enough to subtitle it, and they often discuss interesting topics.

  2. I haven’t watched many live action shows but I like kaseifu no mitazono. It’s an episodic comedy series and has 5 seasons

  3. 1. Hard to tell what would be a comprehensive input for you if we have no idea of your current level
    2. There are hundreds of shows so people will recommend what they personally enjoy, but it would be better to try yourself, it’s not hard to find
    3. There are many other options, and you’ll find a more natural Japanese on youtube, twitch, niconico etc than the written dialogues and mediocre acting most shows provide
    4. You’ll get more answers and less downvotes if you take some time to write properly, especially on a language sub

  4. Anime is fine for comprehension.

It’s material meant to be I’m ediarely understood to Native speakers and covers a wide range of topics.

The worry is when you’re learning to speak, for the love of all you hold dear do not mimic a shounen protagonist. Find a podcast to shadow or something. It’s good to understand them, but you wouldn’t speak like them.
