I am an indie artist and will be traveling to Japan in the end of June until mid-july. I might meet up with some local musicians there to try to perform a small gig. Does anyone have any recomendations for any small informal music festivals or open-mic places in Tokyo?

I’m sure you’re looking for venues per se and I couldn’t tell you which might be open to someone in your situation. But for what it’s worth, I often encountered buskers playing near train stations. Many of them were women (more so than in the US) which was interesting. But that may not be the kind of thing you’re talking about.
