I lost my phone and reported it to the police. When I reported I asked for a report copy and they gave me the report number and telephone number to inquire about it, strongly implying/denying me a copy. My company is insisting on a copy of the report, saying Docomo requires it? There were like 10 officers there when I reported so I really don’t think there was anything unusual going on. What do I tell the bosses besides “here’s the report number and the phone number for the precinct”(which I already have)

Go to any police station/koban, and say “I reported this phone loss and I need a copy of the report since it was my company’s property. Here is the report number”. They will then guide you through a process…. probably.
Usually if people show up and say what they need instead of asking if it’s available, then the staff will guide you through them since there’s a pretty quick understanding you need help.
