DeepDive on N3

In the past year or so I have done a deep dive on all N3 past Grammar and Reading questions (Since the new system was introduce in 2010). Basically, I have copied & pasted almost all the questions from the actual exams then translated them with Google Translate then cleared up any miss-understandings with native Japanese speakers. Then I have listed all the kanji with the meanings and hiragana. For the grammar questions I have put them into categories of grammar points – so I can see which types of grammar questions often come up.

The upshot is that+

A lot of kanji characters which are often used in the real tests don’t appear in N3 textbooks / lists.

The N3 text books I have poorly correlate with what is in the real tests. They focus on stuff which has never been on a real test. And ignore some of the most commonly tested items.

Anyways, after my hardwork I now possess a resource which is 1000% better than the online crap and textbooks which I previously used!

  1. Have you considered the N4 and N5 knowledge that is assumed to be available to N3 test takers?

Have you considered mock exam work books and other additional training material?
Which are the “N3 textbooks” that you referenced?

I took N3 past 2010 and did not perceive a divergence between what I learnt for and what I was tested on.

  2. And now you’re gonna share that resource with everyone because that’s the right thing to do… right?
