I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that my textbook has an error…?

I normally use Genki 3rd edition. But I like getting different explanations for the same topics. Sometimes the way one person explains something is better or fills in gaps another can have. So I’m reviewing a bunch of the early days stuff and decided to give Minna No Nihongo a try. So far I like it. The lack of Romaji makes me happy. But I found this in the first conversation section in the book. Correct me if I’m wrong but is the furigana incorrect in my book or am I being a space cadet and flying over something I’m not picking up?

Edit: I’m dumb and forgot Irregular verbs are a thing. Ignore me. xD

  1. The textbook is correct. 来る is an irregular verb that doesn’t follow the regular ichidan or godan pattern. It is conjugated as きます
