Going back or other possibilities?

Hello everyone!
Unfortunatly I am considering to going back to my country. The Life here Is so fun, but for staying here and find a job (programming/IT), i Need a degree and universities here are more expensive than my country.
I was wondering if there are ways to get a visa even without a degree and less then 10year experience in my country. When i tried to find a job here, everyone told me that I need a degree, so it should be like that right?

  1. You need a degree to receive a visa, full stop.

There are exceptions, but they aren’t easy.

  2. > I was wondering if there are ways to get a visa even without a degree and less then 10year experience in my country.

Well, I mean you could always marry a local. But a work visa? No the requirements are clearly spelled out on the MoJ website and you do not meet them. Go home, get a degree, come back, profit.

  3. When I went to uni, there was a tall story about a very dedicated student from China who managed to get a degree in 1 year and 3 months.

Perhaps you can try to do that, go all in, full immersion… consider it jail time for all the fun you’ve had here 😉

  4. P.S. if you get into uni here, you can work 24 hours a week.

If you have a potential employer lined up who’s cool with that, maybe you can make it work despite the uni tuition?

  5. There’s tokutei ginou, but nothing related to IT.

Works as desperate measures at least for staying in Japan.

The long term plan would be TG, marry someone, IT Job

  6. I can share you my own story.

During bachelor degree I did exchange in North Japan. It was awesome, I considered doing master degree there but as you mention it’s expensive. In most european countries there is no or very low tuiton fees.

So I came back to my home country. During M2, I did an internship in Japan National Institute of Informatics. It was awful but it’s a nice line in the CV.

Fast forward to last year, 5 years after graduating my master and working in my home country, I looked for a new job and found one in Japan with very nice work conditions and quite nice salary.

As the French idioma says, “one footstep backward, two footsteps frontward”. Taking time to reach you objective is not a problem. It may even avoid many burden.

  7. I’m guessing you are still pretty young. Head back, get your degree, come back to Japan again in the future. It’s not going anywhere.

  8. it’s not that expensive. 2-3 year senmon costs about 600-800k/year the cheapest.
