PR and pension exemptions

Looking for some guidance. Currently applying for PR and on Nenkinnet getting my proof of pension payments. My payments have either been fully exempt or ¼ exempt for the past couple of years due to COVID and an incentive by my city.
Is this likely to affect my application?
Anyone been through the same thing recently?

  1. I think your income levels leading to the exemption are probably a bigger concern.
The only people I personally know to fail PR are those reporting low income.
But applying is cheap so you might as well do it..

  2. One requirement for PR is financial independence and stability.

While I don’t know your exact circumstances, considering you needed pension exemption, there’s a good possibility you will be rejected for the reasons above.

  3. Your income must be at least 3M for 3 consecutive years.
Below that your chances of getting PR starts to go down.

  4. I’m not an expert, but I think the thing isn’t about being exempted or receiving incentives but rather the reasons behind them.

So for example, if you got incentives or exemption due to low income, your application might be rejected because you have not been financially independent so far.

On the other hand, if you received incentives that everyone got (e.g. the 100k one time payment, or child allowance), you should be fine.

  5. >1/4 exempt

Have you paid the required 3/4? If not then, yea that would affect your PR application.

But if you have been paying the required 3/4, then it won’t directly affect your application. But your income/financials/ability to independently support yourself in Japan would.
