Cinema tiers in Japan? Gold class?

I saw John Wick 4 in a gold class cinema in Australia a while back and honestly if I can find that experience in Tokyo I’ll leave my house a lot more often.

Gold class is a theater that has basically kind of huge leather lazyboy recliners for each person spaced well apart (drastically reduced capacity) and they serve beer and food to your chair while the movie is screening. It’s quite relaxing and a far better way to watch a movie.

Is there such a thing in Japan? I know they are in Australia and Singapore, but does Japan have an equivalent?

  1. Beer in a cinema is something that sounds good until it isn’t. Once you break the seal you’ve missed half the movie.

  2. In Canada that’s called VIP. There is also a VIP lounge where you can have pre drinks. I haven’t seen anything like that in Tokyo. Though they do serve beer already.

  3. TOHO Cinemas Roppongi used to have a Premier Lounge and two smaller screens with the reclining seats, seat service etc.. but it wasn’t popular in the least and they got rid of or rather converted it all years ago.
