What does shinakereba narimasen mean?

we learned this in class last week, but its immersion teaching so theres no english translation, this is the first time i havent quite been able to figure out what it means

theyve also included different forms of this with different verbs, can anyone give a few examples of what these mean?

  1. We never use that unless in writing. It means ‘have to do something’ but the thing we say in conversation is actually ‘shinaito’, ‘shinakya ikenai’ it has different forms,

    E.g. ‘ うわー、明日また早く起きないと’ or ‘これすぐやらないとまずいな’.

    Also this is only for ‘I have to’. Japanese don’t really tell others ‘you have to do this’.
