Job Hunting

Hello, I am going to complete my undergraduation in Accounting and Finance this September. I have been job hunting quite some time. But am I too late now? I received recently again another rejection email. Any tips on how to look for Jobs here in Japan efficiently? Any suggestions or opportunities I can apply for will help tons. Thank you!

  1. Don’t be discouraged by rejection emails. It happens to the best of us. When I graduated with my bachelors in CS from one of the top schools for it in the Us I still got rejection letters more than I got interviews, sadly it’s just the way job hunting has became, with automation and programs that filter people out without a human even looking at them.

Personally I have found much more success through networking and just talking with people in the industry already instead of just carpet bombing applications everywhere. Jump on linked in and look up some people at the companies you want to apply for and offer to buy them coffee or lunch just for some information and tips. That’s how I ended up getting my first good sde job.

Good luck and don’t give up! 🫡🤘

  2. What is your Japanese level? Accounting and finance juniors in Japan needs native level. Have you taken the SPI exams? You need to score high on them.
New grads are not eligible for referrals in most cases.
