When does link for referees appear?

UK JET Applicant here

Anyone know at what stage of the application the link for referees to submit letters comes available?

Is it after all documents are submitted or at the same stage as documents are submitted?

I’m waiting on letter of Physician but don’t want to keep my referees waiting so ideally want to send them the link ASAP.

  1. When you log in and upload files you can get the link there under ‘reference 1’ etc.

Send that to your referees and they can upload it with that link (if the website stays up haha).

  2. I’m not applying from the UK so I don’t know if there’s a difference but I assumed that the referees would just directly email their letters? I don’t think there’s a link but again, it might be different for UK applicants.

  3. It shouldve been there from the beginning. You have to submit your references email and name and institution. And they get the stuff.

  4. When I submitted my initial application and got to the document upload section, that’s where I could submit an email for my referees to be sent a link. They sent out an email today though that references can still submit after you complete and finalise your application…

“The application process goes as follows:

Applicants fill in the application page and produce a PDF
Applicants upload the required supporting documents to their application
Applicants finalise and submit their application
    Please note:

Confirmation emails are only produced after step ①
Referees can still upload documents after step ③
You can log in to check the status of your referee’s uploads
If your application has been fully submitted, you will see ‘Application process is finished. Thank you’.
※ This message will show even if your referees are yet to submit their references.

We would also like to remind everyone that you should be able to access unique links found under the ‘documents’ tab of your application that you can send to your referee. If you change your mind or your referee did not receive these links, please make sure you send this to them along with the relevant information on our website. If your referee is unable to correctly upload their references, then please ask them to submit it to our ukjetsubmission@ld.mofa.go.jp email (however, this should be a last resort and the file should ideally not exceed 500kb so that it does not bounce back).

Again, remember to finalise your application by the 21st at 11:59pm (GMT). We look forward to receiving your applications, and good luck!”

    I hope this is helpful!

  5. The reference links become available once you have submitted the first part of the application that is the online web form + medial declaration. You’ll get an email thanking you for completing it and then you will see another tab in your application account that is where you upload your other documents. In this spot there should be a drop-down list that says Reference 1 and Reference 2 and it will prompt you to enter their emails. Once you have done that it will also show up in your document list and it will provide a link for your referee to upload in case they’ve had it filtered or something.

  6. I’m also in the UK and had same question because I was waiting for my SoP to come back to make sure it matched what I declared!! my references are sent now finally but my referees haven’t uploaded them yet so hopefully they do on Monday or I’m out £90 😭😂
