100€ per day for a three months trip feasible?

Hello everyone! I am starting to plan my first trip to Japan later this year. I recently found this sub and I love to read the travel reports and get suggestions for the itinerary.

I am planning to travel by myself and stay for 90 days in Japan. I’m thinking about the budget for the whole trip at the moment and I would like to get your thoughts on this.

Apart from the flights to and from Japan, I am planning with 100€ (~15000 円) per day to cover everything, so accommodation, food, transport and activities.

From what I’ve read in this sub so far, this is not absolutely dirt cheap, would you agree?
I’m totally fine with hostels and cheap airbnb’s, I also thought about staying in Sakura house for a month.
I’d like to have a nice meal every now and then but I’m also totally fine with food from the combini.

So my question is, do you think, 100€ per day is feasible?

I’m probably going to post more here in the future, I think this sub offers some of the most valuable tips for such a trip you can get!

  1. $3,200 US / 450,000 JPY per month is feasible. Accommodation can be a little pricey in some areas but other than that it’s easy to control your expenses (and you already seem okay with inexpensive accommodation). You won’t have to eat from Combini every day. Lots of good, inexpensive options.

  2. We just got back from our 2 week trip to Japan, without hotels we spent 371,000 yen in 14 days. That was trains, activities, food, drink.
