I noticed lots of home builders offer centralized air conditioning options these days. Anyone that has purchased one can speak to the type of maintenance required for the ducts?
I noticed that the flexible plastic types are used here versus the metal stronger looking ones in other countries. How long do these ducts last? What is the process to repair and replace these in Japan considering how everything tends to be more cramped up on many of these homes?

How can a duct even break ?
There’s a warranty for leaks etc. 1 year IIRC
After that, any duct fixes will range from 10k to 100k depending on the extent of the damage.
