  1. Henya the genius is super wholesome and she speaks japanese and english. Her english is 10/10.

She mainly speaks english but adds a lot of japanese to it (like dayo and naruhoto) but she has a big japanese fanbase as well so she speaks to them a lot in japanese.

Super wholesome streamer, a true gem.

  2. Kamito, as he is basically a normal streamer that doesn’t have any weird speech thing and you’d be learning while you’re listening to him. Cracked at Apex too

  3. I recently started to watch some of the hololive girls. Especially a lot of pekora, but they pitch their voices a lot to Sound cuter and thats kinda annoying After 30 Minutes or so. Havent found a vtuber that speaks japanese with a normal voice

  4. Disclaimer: Hololive focused.

I think what you are looking for depends a lot on your level. If you are just starting out I’d recommend looking at multilingual streamers interacting with JP talent. Kiara, Baelz and Mori have various streams like that. On JP side Takane Lui is very good at english and do japanese learning streams with EN talents once in a while.

Lately I’ve really enjoyed Azkis Geoguessr streams. They are completely in japanese but the context is clear. You get to practice talking about places and locations and if you are actively watching you can challenge yourself to try to read street signs etc.

This stream I also liked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHsA45m1Zd4 this is Suisei playing the game I think you can’t go wrong watching any streamer playing this game as the game is literally about finding and knowing the name of objects.

On a similar note this specific minecraft stream with Mio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHmh_r4DRPA is interesting because she is running a horse betting ticket booth. So you get a familiar scenario repeated over and over again. Great to practice listening comprehension and counting.

I’d say just go with any lets play with a game you are already familiar with. I really enjoyed Pekoras Final Fantasy X playtrough even though I hardly understood Japanese back then 😀

I would also strongly recommend watching the Hololive main youtube channel with their gameshow like content. It’s usually fully in Japanese but with Japanese text that gives context. There are a few episodes with some EN talent mixed in as well. And if you are struggling there is English and Japanese subs you can put on.

Bonus non Hololive recommendation: Iida Pochi is decent at english and has several Duolingo streams where she studies English and other streams where they explain Japanese meme culture to their western audience.
