Thinking take my family away to celebrate a good year and to thank my partner for always looking after kids.
What’s a nice but higher end ryokan+private onsen to go around ä¸éƒ¨ or Kansai area without driving too remotely. Maybe like a Takefue or Hoshinoya level type of place. Pretty hard without going remote I noticed.

Uji has lots of great ryokan with private onsen right on the river.
Yatsu San Kan in Gifu is outstanding. I stayed there 10 years ago and it’s still one of my favorite memories in Japan.

Hidatei Hanaougi (Takayama), Tsutaya Tokinoyado Kazari (Nakasendo), Myojinkan (Matsumoto), Kayotei (Yamanaka Onsen), Kumano Bettei Nakanoshima (Wakayama), Sasayuri-Ann (Nara), Fufu Nara (Nara), Nishimuraya Honkan (Kinosaki Onsen), Basaratei (Mie).
Most of them have private bath, but not all are onsen.
[Yunoshimakan](https://www.yunoshimakan.co.jp/en/) in Gero Onsen, central Gifu is pretty outstanding.
