Hello everyone,
I have been accepted into a language school in Japan, with plans to start my studies in early October. My primary objective is to improve my proficiency in Japanese, and seek employment opportunities.
I bring along experience in the tech industry and bachelor degree, which I am optimistic will help me in the job search process. Being physically present in Japan, with a local address, will hopefully assist me in finding a job.
However, I do have some concerns about potential age-related challenges. At 29, I worry that my age might present an obstacle in this new phase of my life and career. I am reaching out to seek your advice, assistance, and insights on this matter. Thank you

You’re fine, 29 is plenty young.
I mean it depends. The IT field is like the medical field – there is a wide range of roles. There are people who clean people who poop themselves and there are people who perform brain surgery. If you are closer to the brain surgery side in the IT field, you will have no problems at all. There is a massive shortage of super talented folks. If you are closer to the poop side, then it ain’t so much the age, but there are lots of people here who can do the poopoo IT work.
What type of IT work do you do?
