Streaming Japanese video games for learners

I have been studying Japanese for 9 years and am a translator. I always wished there was some kind of streamer that would explain Japanese sentences, grammar, culture etc. while playing a game. So today I’ve decided to become that guy.

I’ll start streaming on [twitch](https://www.twitch.tv/moribito_specht) today at 13:00 GMT+2. My goal is to stream JRPGs and visual novels (always open for suggestions). You can also check out the VOD once I am done streaming. Might be resourceful for some of you out there (I know it would have been for me). I’ll start with the Japan exclusive **Mother 3** 🙂

  1. Quick disclaimer about vods; they often remove audio on sections where copyrighted music is detected, so some explanations might not be accessible after the fact. To circumvent one could record the livestream and then upload to another platform later.

  2. This is a cool idea but I dunno if very useful for someone like me around n4 n5 level with 1k words mined

  3. I would have participated in the chat but you have it set for only verified accounts..

Game Grammar and Game Gengo are a few that do exactly that sort of thing. Not to say you shouldn’t also.

  5. Please also make a YT channel and post the VODs there! Twitch deletes VODs after a few months.

  6. I watch a bit of the VOD and I love this idea! I can see it being very useful to me. I think it would be helpful to turn the game audio down a bit though, since as a listener I would primarily want to hear you. (Even though I love the Mother 3 soundtrack)
