Yunyu Kakunin-sho question

I am going to Japan for a couple of months for school soon and I am in the process of making sure I can bring more than one month of my medicine with me. I’m a little confused as to what the next step is and I figured I might get an answer quicker here than by email. My Yunyu Kakunin-sho has been certified and they mentioned contacting UPS. What are they talking about? Am I supposed ship my medicine? Are they talking about something else entirely?

Here is the text copied directly from the email from the ministry of health:
“Attached is the certificated “Yunyu Kakunin-sho”.
Please contact to UPS and inform them that you have obtained and submit it.”

Any help would be appreciated.

  2. They may have misunderstood and thought you were shipping your meds independently. Bring your meds with you and a printed copy of the Yunyu Kakunin-sho and, assuming the drugs you’re bringing are legal in Japan, you should have no issues when you enter the country.

The above is basically exactly what I did, and they never even looked at my drugs or paperwork. It’s good to be prepared, though.

  3. Unless you mentioned having it shipped to you on your request (forms 12 & 14) they could just be confused. As long you have their form that is stamped and the correct amount that you requested to bring, I think you should be okay.

Doing this myself tomorrow for the first time so I will let you know how it goes but I really don’t expect any issue.
