I have been in Japan for over a year and it is so common to the point where it’s almost every 2 times I get on the train I can see some teen being bullied by their peers. This is just a rant but I hope all Japanese teens know that acting tough and putting down others isn’t gonna change the fact that they are still a 5’7 little boy. Fucking midgets putting down other smaller kids thinking it would make them feel more masculine but nah they the furthest from being a fucking man 💀 pathetic really

Bullying is everywhere because assholes are everywhere. Japan isn’t special in this regard. Was a bullied kid too
As pathetic as body shamming shorter people?
>putting down others isn’t gonna change the fact that they are still a 5’7 little boy.
Did you really call someone a little boy based on their perfectly average height? A height that many, *many* adults in Japan share?
Are you seriously calling someone 5’7 a *midget*????
You made a thread to complain about bullying and yet you mention something like this!
Are grown men who are 5’7 little boys to you also?
There are a couple of reasons:
1. Japan is a hierarchical society. Bullying is sort of normalized if it’s done by superiors to subordinates. People rarely stand up to those who are perceived to be stronger or more powerful than them. Things like comedies and skits also normalize bullying behavior.
2. A lot of pent-up stress. Japan has a lot of pointless social rules that you must follow, especially at school. There are so many rules to follow and studying to do that kids get stressed.
3. People lack a sense of “justice”. It’s fairly common that both adults and children look the other way when there’s somebody being bullied, because they don’t want to get involved and risk getting bullied themselves. If you stand up to the bullies then they’ll make fun of YOU for “acting just”. “Justice” has become a bit of a dirty word in Japan and the common attitude is that “there’s no such thing as justice” or “justice is dangerous”. Many will outright deny that there’s a such thing as justice and in fact even blame justice for all the problems in the world. Kids often join and side with the bullies because they’re scared that they’ll be bullied too. It’s not uncommon that you’ll get bullied by the entire class if you’re unlucky.
4. Lack of education and knowledge about bullying. Adults don’t do enough to try and stop bullying, they simply look the other way and try to ignore bullying or pretend that it doesn’t exist. They don’t teach the kids to stop bullying, and in fact they often bully the kids themselves.
Did you…just call me shorter than a midget??? I feel bullied 😟
Where do you live?
Somehow I never see it around here.
What I do see monthly is some boy “pinning” a girl to a wall (without touching her, but like hovering at a half an inch distance) trying to “talk” to her, while the girl clearly wants to gtfo.
Bullying is everywhere. I’m not sure what utopian NBA breeding ground you crawled out of, but you obviously have issues that extend beyond these bullying gripes.
