Does anyone know where I can learn advanced food kanji found in menus? I feel like I can read most things I come across with fairly well until I’m in a restaurant haha
Some recommendations on a website, blog, book or something focused specifically on Japanese food would be highly appreciated, thanks in advance!

[I did find this site that has “gourmand kanji kentei” that might help](https://www.hotpepper.jp/doc/bounenkai/nandemo/term_kanji.html#a01). It’s not comprehensive, but might help out a bit.
If you hover over the kanji, you will see the reading too and you can look them up further in your dictionary of choice.
OP – hijacking your post to ask if you or others know of a *basic* kanji food/restaurant guide? I’m a beginner, and although I know that I’ll come across these kanji with experience and time, it would be a great resource to have to start with.
I actually made a Japanese lesson about exactly just this! Send me a message! I’ll send you a copy of my slides! (I run a Japanese School)
Not exactly an answer for you, but have fun reading 御御御付!
One challenge is that restaurants sometimes make unique flowery names for their dishes. But something with like everything on the wall at a izakaya would be useful huh
