Whats the difference between 親友 and 親しい友人?

I just failed an exercise because I put 親友 instead of 親しい友人 but I just don’t understand the difference between the two of them

  1. It would help a lot if you can show the said exercise. And put it in daily thread. And read the pinned comment on the daily thread.

  2. 親友 is like a super close or even best friend to me

親しい友人 to me, is a friend who is maybe of slightly lesser closeness or significance?

I’m interested in seeing others answers here.

  3. Depends on what the test is asking for.

親友 is a noun meaning “a close friend” or “best friend.”

親しい友人 is an adjective (親しい – intimate, close) describing a noun (友人 – friend).
