Grade school Japanese teacher

When I was in kindergarten I went to a preparatory school that thought Japanese. Every morning we would say konnichiwa, tiny sensei. Now that I’m thinking of it, I don’t think tiny is right. What other word could we have said that sounded like tiny?

  1. Are you sure it wasn’t just their name? As in Name-Sensei?

The other option is maybe “tannin sensei” (担任先生) which is the term for basically your homeroom teacher. Altho I feel like that’s more a term used when talking *about* the teacher, like “teacher gave us a lot of homework today,” whereas when you’re talking *to* /greeting them, it would be Name-sensei
