Refrigerated medication storage?

I am traveling to Japan in a couple of weeks. I take an injectable medication weekly that needs to be refrigerated. I am planning to stay in Koyasan for a night and then hike the Kumano Kodo for about 6 days. I can delay the medication so I don’t necessarily have to carry it on that part of the trip, but I’m not sure where to store it during this period. Any ideas? Do you think a hotel in Osaka would be willing to store a refrigerated item, similarly to a luggage storage? Anyone have experience with this?

  1. I just did the Kumano Kodo trail and each accommodation had a fridge. But I suppose the medicine won’t handle the time between each stop?

  2. I dont think any hotel will store it for you. Sounds way too risky in case something happens.

  3. Not doubting you, but double check what the medication needs.

There are some which need to be stored at 4C, but once in use can be anywhere up to 30C. Some need to be always kept around 4C. Small difference, but can make your trip much easier.
