SOP Feedback? ( I know last minute ( >_<) )

Hello all, US-JET hopeful here! I finished my SOP awhile ago and had friends that are professors read and provide feedback, but would appreciate a hopeful/alum/current JET ALT to review. This is my 1st time making a post (not just comment) in reddit so unsure if this is how it goes, my apologies in advance! I was rejected the first time so this is my second go round. In retrospect, my SOP and recommendations weren’t strong enough tbh. This time I got new recommendations, volunteered more and reworked my SOP.

I’m an older applicant (late 30s) and Black and Japanese. I was not immersed in Japanese culture; however, as an adult I’ve found ways to understand this part of my identity a little better. Cultural exploration is one of the reasons I am applying for JET. Also, totally willing to check out someone else’s. I’m struggling to self-edit and not be so “flowery” or narrative in style as I have read on here that’s not always advisable. Thank y’all kindly in advance!
