I’m planning on majoring in Japanese, but I’m taking a gap year now after my second year. I’ve done 2 years of Japanese at college with no previous knowledge and we went through the Genki 1 and 2 textbooks. My Japanese teacher said studying for N3 would be doable for me but I’m not sure how big the gap between N3 and N2 is so idk if anyone has experience taking both exams.
My Japanese is pretty mid tbh, but I have a year off so I wanted to set a goal for myself cuz I would probably wouldn’t grow at all just doing duolingo or something. I’m also very good with standardized tests so that would help me pass, but ofc this isn’t the goal of learning Japanese. I just to set a goal for myself and build some more foundation when I continue. Thanks for the help!

every gap is bigger than the previous gap
take a sample n3 and n2 exam each and evaluate how much of each is familiar to you
There’s a big gap from Genki 2 to N3 level
