Hey,
so I am still unsure if this is possible and didnt find something like this.
So I dont have a bachelor, I did a apprenticeship (3 years working in a company and visiting vocational school) as IT assistant manager (apprenticeships are really common in Germany) and am working as a Sysadmin right now.
My plan would be to go to japan to a language school for 2 years as soon, somewhen around next year, I would then have 3 years working experience as Systemadministrator on top of my apprenticeship.
I hope to achieve N2 in these 2 years, but will I even be able to get a working VISA approved after that, without a bachelors degree?

Nevermind. I was wrong.

I’m inclined to believe that immigration would consider this to be equivalent to a Japanese vocational school so I think you’d *probably* be okay for a related career. I’d suggest checking with your school or your local Japanese consulate to see if they are aware of anyone with a similar educational level successfully applying for a visa.

I feel like taking yourself out of the game for two years to learn the language would not help your prospects much. Obviously better language skills gives you more options, but I know when I was out of the game for around 6 months (admittedly I was just teaching Eikaiwa) when I was getting back into it the first question everyone asked was what I had done during those 6 months to keep myself up to date.
My son is similar. He has two years programming through Highschool, a diploma in Programming through a vocational school and 3 years working for a AAA gaming company. No official bachelors. I know there is the 7-10 year experience rule without a bachelor – but wondering if he has enough with his current Diploma and his experience to qualify for a work visa. Huh.
He currently is an N3 and is also looking at a 2 year language school as an option to get in to Japan.
The sheer majority of jobs require bachelors at minimum. So you’ll encounter a bit of difficulty
