cost of blood test vs new immunizations?

My wife doesnt have any records for her Immunizations that are needed for her US spouse visa.

She called a clinic and made an appointment to get blood test for imminuzations. The clinic said that they would need to do a seperat test for each one.

There are 13 immunizations needed. Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Polio, Tetanus and Diptheria Toxoids, Pertussis, Heamophilus Influenzae type B, Hepatitis B and A, Varicella, Rotavirus, Meningococcal, and Pneumococal.

im not sure if she needs all of them, but these are the ones listed on government websites.

Does anyone know how much one of these blood tests cost without inssurance?

Would it be cheaper to just get all of the shots again?

Edit:

her records were lost during the tsunami.

  1. It might not be cheaper but it would certainly be easier. Also be aware that she’s going to fail the TB test (because she’s been immunized against it) that they’ll give her on her physical and will need a chest x-ray but IIRC we didn’t need that until just before we got my wife’s green card – I don’t know how the entry into the US works she was going from a work visa to a spouse/green card.

  2. Does your wife’s family doctor/clinic from her childhood still exist? (Many smaller ones are carried on by younger family members when the founding physician retires). They still may have records.

  3. It’ll all be in her mother’s boshi techo. Need to ask her mother for it.

  4. Some of those vaccines are available as a combo, and it’s recommended to get a booster anyways – Measles Mumps Rubella is commonly available as 1, and Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis as 1.

Hepatitis vaccines are also generally recommended to get a booster.
