Should I buy both the genki textbook and the workbook or just the workbook?

I own both kanji look and learn standard and the workbook, and it doesn’t really seem like I need the regular glossary. Is the same with the other genki textbooks? Sorry if this is a dumb question lol

  1. Are you planning to save money. You can find a lot of places to practice on the internet. Do you want convenience, buy the book. It’s not necessary to have and you will not use it all the time. But sometimes it can be handy.

  2. The textbook teaches the lesson and the workbook is just exercises. You’d be confused with just the workbook unless you are already using another grammar source and don’t mind jumping around in the workbook to find the related exercises

  3. I can see an argument for just the textbook or for both.

Even if you have changed your mind, I am super curious, what was your rationale for just the workbook?
