Any clinic or hospital recommendations for cancer screening or head MRI/MRA in Tokyo?

Any experiences had are also welcome.

  1. any MRI in your google map will do. But for the cancer… try big one like Sanno hospital or something.

  2. I took 6-7MRI at Sanno Hospital in Akaska due to a severe CSF leak. However, it’s difficult to make an appointment(takes around 1 month).

  3. I got an MRI+MRA as an optional extra during my yearly health check (called a brain-dock) a couple of years ago and it cost about 5man. If you message me Monday, I can try to find the name of the place. I think it was called ‘medical scanning’ in akasaka. They were nice. I did everything in japanese but I think they can do a bit of english

    Edit: forgot some context

Edit2: for further context, I had severe almost-daily headaches and some other fine motor control issues. It ended up my scans were clean and there were a few other factors, but I’m still 1000% glad I did it and ruled out brain issues.

  4. Try a bigger hospital imo, maybe a university hospital. Mine provides ear protection (kind of like big headphones) and this doesn’t seem to be so common in general. Makes it almost pleasant.

  5. Both I and my spouse have had cancer screenings and full-body MRIs after positive biopsy results. My spouse had/is having the diagnosis, operation, ongoing treatment, and scans at a large, university-affiliated hospital we happen to live near. I got a reference for a scan at a chain called [メディカルスキャニング](https://www.medicalscanning.net/), but I went to a regular clinic first for a preliminary check and the biopsy. The scanning was not as much as what u/tiredofsametab quotes, but who knows why that may have been.
