Omiyage from Switzerland

Hello everyone!

Just a disclaimer that I do live and work in Japan, but enjoying a nice holiday!

I do realise it might be a silly question but I’m currently enjoying a nice week in Switzerland and I’m kind of at loss as to what to bring back to everyone!

Honestly I wish I could take back all the delicious cheese I’ve had but I don’t even know if that’s possible nor how to do it. I might be a bit greedy but I’ve mostly been tasting food at this point and going on hikes!

But now it’s coming to an end and I’m going back soon, without any idea as to what to bring back really. At this point I’m thinking why not ask on Reddit right, I’ve been lurking for a while after all!

What would you think would be proper to give? Even better! What would you enjoy receiving!

*Currently in Gstaad if it matters*

I did not think of chocolate at all! I just hope it won’t melt! Thanks!

  1. Switzerland is the country of chocolate… The answer to your question is rather obvious.

You can get big bags of lindt balls in supermarkets for a fraction of what they cost in Japan. If you have a bigger budget you can also visit a fancy chocolate store and get artisan stuff that will rock your socks.

  2. Laderach chocolate is maybe my favourite in the whole world, I always bring back from there as omiyage. They sell in Zurich airport but it’s cheaper in town

  3. Muesli, honey, chocolate and Kambly biscuits. Bought everything at migros/coop 👍🏻

  4. Wait what??????? You go to Switzerland and not see chocolate in front of you?
