Japanese should be written vertically. It is said that vertical writing has the meaning of writing one’s own words by swearing to heaven(upside). In the past, many books and newspapers were written vertically, but unfortunately, with the advent of the Internet, vertical writing is rapidly becoming obsolete.

I mean, virtually all creative writing is done vertically on paper. It’s not going anywhere. Unless you get vertical monitor orientations to become standard within Japan, insisting on a vertically-written internet would be too inconvenient.

This. Take my support from a person who very well advocates the preservation of traditional quality of the Japanese language. I even created a list of all native equivalents of loan words.
Thank you for doing this, I started learning how to read vertically and I actually found I had a hard time with horizontal, that changed over time but I find myself missing vertical reading. There’s options on some sites that allow you to use 縦書き format which I always turn on. It looks more beautiful too.
Would be nice if the latin text could be written vertically also.
