Schedule / Routine for Studying

Just curious what your routine/schedule is for practicing Japanese. I know this varies from person to person depending on what works best but figured I’d ask.

Do you practice daily? If so, for how long and what topic do you tend to focus on every day? Thanks

  1. I don’t study anymore, but I used to:

Do vocab or kanji decks with anki in the morning while commuting, trying to finish them before I get home.

After I get home I’d try to learn new stuff. New grammar, listening and reading while adding new cards to my decks to review the next day. I would have some goal of adding X new vocab/kanji/grammar cards per day.

I’d say I’d spend 1-2h per day in the beginning then later more like 3-4h reading and listening to stuff that’s actually enjoyable once my understanding was better.

  2. I do 30-45 minutes of bussu and 30 minutes of review everyday then an hour with a private teacher 3 times a week. I’ll also get practice in randomly through podcasts, shows/movies, and games.
