Forgot to send pictures of passport to school after leaving Japan, can this cause issues when applying for a work visa?

Almost a decade ago, I left Japan after studying Japanese at a language school on a student visa. I might soon get an opportunity to get transferred to my company’s office in Japan, but I’m worried there could be immigration issues.

When I left back then, I got my passport stamped and resident card punched and made invalid at the airport, but I forgot to send pictures of my passport with the stamp to my school. I just went through some old documents and realized this was something I should have done back then. Does anyone know if this could this cause problems when I apply for a work visa now?

(I know I’m an idiot for forgetting about that, I was in a bad place mentally back then which is probably what caused me to forget…)

  2. Your status of residence belongs to you and you alone. Why would you need to send proof of departure to your old school?
