1. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to propagate and preserve your own genealogy and culture within your country. The desire to do so is mainly an extension of biology, and it can be very advantageous.

   *How* a country goes about doing those things is what can make the difference between good patriots and villains.

2. My experience in Japan was wildly different than the article is stating.

   There are a lot of people who have preferences when it comes to their partner. This is not unique to Japan, and considering foreigners make up less than 3% of the population it should honestly be expected.
