Be real weird if that’s where it happens but definitely agree.
Could be forbidden door, but personally feel like it should be at WK (if NJPW lets Shibata wrestle there again, that is); personally, I’d love for the match to have a buildup of Shibata and KENTA have tag matches on the Road to WK; maybe have Shibata and Narita vs KENTA and Coughlin; then maybe Shibata and Goto vs KENTA and Clark Connors; finally have it the last tag match be Shinbata… and Tanahashi vs KENTA… and Marufuji.
There ain’t no Shibata match at Forbidden Door.
If NJPW were willing to use him, he would be wrestling in NJPW.
I’m really surprised we haven’t seen Shibata on an NJPW US show. I feel like him having Pure title matches at Capital Collision and Resurgence makes a lot more sense than him being an NJPW signed wrestler who wrestles primarily for ROH/AEW.
No clue if Tony Khan doesn’t want him to or if it’s NJPW’s decision but Shibata on those shows would make them feel like a far bigger deal. Letting him defend against Tracy Williams, Bobby Fish, Tom Lawlor, Clark Connors, Gabriel Kidd, and others would be a lot of fun.
It’s a NJ show and NJ don’t want Shibata wrestling for them. They could have put together that match long ago.
It won’t be Shibata vs Kenta since both of them are contracted to NJPW. Kenta vs Punk?
