Where are the best places to buy a cake in Nagoya?

It’s for my birthday, and I would like to buy a whole cream and strawberry cake if possible. Thanks 🙂

  1. This seems like a post about shopping, maybe your question is solved by [the wiki page](https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/wiki/shopping)?

  2. Open up google maps and search for the nearest cake shop. Most shops can prepare a strawberry cream cake. Some you can get on the same day, some will need to order in advance. Also r/Nagoya exist maybe they can suggest more specific shops.

  3. Harbs is the go to for locals. Really rich cakes. Variety is somewhat seasonal though. Main store is near Hisaya Oodori station but lots of branches around Nagoya department stores. Come to think of it, just hit up the department store basements. Lots to chose from!

  4. There are a bunch of Harb locations around sakae and Nagoya station. Getting a whole cake might not be easy. Baskin Robbins has ice cream cakes. Lots of places sell whole, but small cakes.

  5. It might be hard to find good strawberries right now as they are not in season (in Japan strawberry season is from about December to early May)

  6. Think outside the box, and get a variety of absolutely delicious freshly made Turkish desserts at Beyzâde Baklava.

Wash it all down with ayran, of course.

  7. Happy Birthday 🥳 🎂 I don’t have any recommendation. Just wanna say wish you best, champion

  8. Most small cake shops do well with cakes. Use google maps to find cake shops close to you with good reviews.

  9. It’s not downtown, but Cafe Tanaka near Kamiiida station has amazing cakes.

  10. There is an excellent place called D’z cheese. If you’re into cheesecake.

  11. Oooh it’s refreshing to see another nagoya resident here for once! An early happy birthday to you 🙂
