Technically everything helps a little bit, but your time is much better spent not going over mostly the same words again. Finish tango N5+N4 and then make your own deck. Learning Japanese vocab sometimes feels like a bottomless pit. IMO the sooner you start mining and learning words that are useful for you the better.
No. The core decks are rather bad.
Once you do tango n4 might as well just start mining words from the wild. Core deck like 2k/6k I think has its frequency list from newspapers and so contain words you may never really use and after doing tango n4 there’s not really a point using it, as opposed to using it after tango n5 or from the start.
