Do I need a booster shot to re-enter Japan

I’m planning to travel to Australia this August and I’m having trouble finding out if I need a third shot, booster shot, to re-enter Japan. Does anyone have any knowledge on this ?

  1. I think it can make the process of getting back in easier if you get the booster, but you aren’t required to get any vaccine to enter on resident visas

  2. No, but you still need a negative PCR within 72 hours prior to departure – fuckin’ backwards-ass country Japan is…

  3. Im going back to Australia at the end of the month and ive had my three. my question is about the negative PCR test we need before coming back to Japan. My wife told me that there are only a few places in Sydney where the Japanese government accepts the tests from and she told me the tests are $300 each! this cant be correct?

  4. So if don’t get a booster I need to quarantine and use that mySOS app right.

  5. Just found this info on the Australia embassy site

    Google translate:
If you enter Japan from Australia, you do not need to have an immigration inspection or wait at home after entering Japan, regardless of whether you have been vaccinated.

However, please note that it is assumed that you have not stayed in a country / region classified as “red” or “yellow” within 14 days before your arrival in Japan.

So no quarantine if you are vaxxed or not !?

Does that mean the mySOS app is no longer required too ?
