I just watched “The Days”, I have nothing but respect to Japanese people, They are polite, Smart,amazing, respectful to others and many other things. I noticed on this series that the people who were asked why something is happening by a higher ranking person , they were afraid of answering or they were ashamed if they didn’t know the answer, I felt like growing up they were not allowed to speak their mind and express their feelings, is it like that in real life there or this series did not do a good justification of the culture.

Yes. Generally in Japanese culture it is considered disrespectful to speak your mind to a superior. Japanese culture emphasizes politeness and respectfulness but this is also a double edged sword, the same way individualism can be positive or negative in American society.
