Itinerary Check – 14 days (Tokyo, Takayama, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Osaka)

Hey everyone. Please help check over my itinerary I am doing with a friend start of July. Its a total of 14 day trip. We are huge foodies so trying to find the best food spots and overall cool experiences. We are young fit guys so easy to handle a lot.

Day 1 (Tokyo)
\- Arrive Haneda airport (pickup JR pass)
\- Check in hotel (Staying in Shibuya)
\- Ramen dinner (Ichiran, Afuri, Ramen Hayashi) Which ones best?

Day 2 (Tokyo)
\- Shibuya crossing
\- MEGA Don Quijote
\- Shibuya 109
\- Hachiko Statue
\- Lunch @ Roast beef oho Harajuku
\- Explore Harajuku
**- EMPTY SPACE. WHAT TO DO BEFORE DINNER?**
\- Dinner @ Sushi Umezawa (Omakase, anyone been? Is it good?
\- Post dinner, hang around Shibuya (Any recommendations for cool bars in Shibuya?)

Day 3 (Tokyo)
\- Tsukiji outer market (wake up early)
\- TeamLab Planets (12:30)
\- Head to Shinjuku
\- Lunch @ Uogashi Nihon-Ichi (Good spot?)
\- Explore Shinjuku (Gyoen park)
\- Night out at Golden Gai/Omoide yokocho

Day 4 (Tokyo)
\- Explore Akihabara
\- Lunch @ Gyukatsu ichi Ni San (good spot?)
\- Ameyoko Shopping District
\- Explore Kappabashi
\- Senso-ji temple
\- Nakamise Dori street
\- Dinner @ Nabezo (any good?)
\- Night out at Shibuya Nombei Yokocho

Day 5 (Takayama)
\- Train to Takayama
\- Walk around Sanmachi Suji (eat hida beef, sake)
\- Visit Takayama Jinya
\- Go to ryokan for dinner (Sumiyoshi Ryokan. Anyone been? Is it a good place?)

Day 6 (Takayama/Kanazawa)
\- Takayama morning market
\- Train to Kanazawa
\- Tsuzumi Gate
\- Lunch @ Omicho Market
\- Walk around Naga Machi District
\- Kanazawa castle
\- Dinner @ Takasakiya sushi (any good)
\- Sake bar and night out downtown Kanazawa

Day 7 (Kanazawa)
\- Tea ceremony overlooking gyokusen inmaru garden
\- Walk through Kanazawa castle to Kenroku-en
\- **Lunch @ ?????** (Anyone have good lunch recommendations in Kanazawa?)
\- Explore Higashi Chaya District and Kazuemachi Chaya
\- Dinner @ Shogyotei (any good?)

Day 8 (Kyoto)
\- Train to Kyoto
\- Kinkau-Ji
**- Rest of the day is blank any recommendations of what to do?**

Day 9 (Kyoto)
\- Fushimi Inari Shrine (early morning)
\- Vistit Chopstick Store
\- Lunch at Nishiki Market
\- Walk to Gion and see famous streets/ areas
\- Visit Kiyomizu-dera
\- Dinner @ Kichi kichi omurice (worth the hype?)
\- Kimachi dori and pontocho mark nightlife

Day 10 (Kyoto/Osaka)
\- Arashiyama Bamboo Grove (early morning)
\- Monkey park
\- Train to Osaka
\- Hanshin Tigers baseball game
\- Night out dotonbori

Day 11 (Nara/Osaka)
\- Train to Nara
\- Isu-en garden
\- Nandaimon gate
\- Walk through Nara park
\- Kasha-taisha
\- Kofuku-ji
\- Lunch @ Maguro Koya (any good?)
\- Nakatanidou
\- Night out in Osaka (Dotonbori)
\- Hozenji Yokocho
\- Glico sign

Day 12 (Osaka)
\- Osaka Castle
\- Lunch @ Kuromon ichiba market
\- Doing a food and sake night tour the rest of the evening

Day 13 (Osaka)
\- Namba yasaka Jinga
\- Dotonbori day activities
\- Takoyaki
\- Rikuro Namba Main Branch
\- Naruto Teriyaki Hompo
\- Shitenoji Temple
\- Night out at shinsekai

Day 14 (Osaka/Tokyo)
\- Shibuya Sky observatory
\- Dinner @ Tsujihan Zeitaku Don
**- Where to go for night out here?**
\- Fly out the next morning

  1. there’s a kanazawa-style curry shop south of the park called turban curry that I really want to go back to. cheap, fast diner-style lunch.

    Would also recommend tako-tako kings around dotenbori, good okonomiyaki and drinks. and the kushikatsu places with the angry man
