Details:
– You can choose “Show original text” after expanding the “Japanese->English” window.
– If the UI-Elements are in the way, you can move around the snapped picture.
– You sadly can’t show the readings of words, but you can listen to them.
Googles OCR is amazingly accurate! Does anybody now of other apps that work as well but are more focused on studying than simply translating?

Google Lens for OCR then copy and paste into a proper dictionary. I don’t think it’s unfair to expect Google’s OCR to be consistent, but Google Translate is still garbage compared to any proper dictionary. That includes JMDICT, which is what Jisho and many other free J-E/E-J dictionaries are based on.
Either that or install Gboard and use that to handwrite any kanji straight into your dictionary, if you can write.
