I was looking for used electronics for my work and stumbled upon a site this site: https://rktvc.pwholezcc.top/.
I placed an order and they state to “contact us for payment methods”. The e-mail I received says to transfer money to an account after which they will ship the item.
Convenience store payment is supposedly not available because they are running a campaign that cuts into margins.
Usually, this kind of conversion flow would be an instant red flag for me, but I’m unaware of how things work in Japan.
I was wondering if anyone can confirm its legitimacy or has used it before?

100% scam site, do NOT transfer any money to them. Basically, anything with a .top domain is most likely scam.
For the items listed on front page, it looks like they’re lifting pics and descriptions from mercari and then picking a random price. how i know: there’s a few pics that are like XXXさん専用 which mercari sellers sometimes use to relist an item for a specific person (of course, anyone is free to buy it, but whatever).
Biggest red flag is that url. I’m not even willing to click it to learn more lol
The URL is not just a red flag; it’s blatantly screaming “this is a scam site.”
Try these:
Please stick to the larger well known sites as much as possible. It is not worth the few % in perceived savings for the risk.
Just to add on to what others have said, you might want to avoid ordering late-night massages from Craigslist too.
If you are seeing websites with gibberish name, then it’s a big red flag, from a big red flag 🇨🇳 country. Avoid it.
For electronic, [Janpara](https://www.janpara.co.jp/) is the best, it comes with 3 months of warranty too.
Alternatively, [hardoff](https://netmall.hardoff.co.jp) for more general electronics.
The domain for this “shop” has been registered less than a month ago. And, as the name of the shop on the website and the domain name don’t fit while the email addy is yet on another domain, it will likely disappear and reappear under a new name pretty soon.
Better not to send money.
I buy damaged tvs from mercari, fix and resell on my own web shop. i would ask for money transfer in some cases, but all my products can be tested at my place if the costumer prefer. shops that does not have an address should be avoided.
I once got a text from a random Japanese number saying that I have 4万 due for my phone bill. And have to pay from a multipoint in a conbini, but won’t accept anything but a specific option, almost got scammed.
