My now-husband and I recently married and will soon move to a house together. Right now, we are living separately but just a 10-min walk between our places.
Tried to call one Hikkoshi service (Sakai) and they told me that they can’t do a hikkoshi from two places. Or maybe I just worded it wrong to them as well. Sakai was telling me that we need to have a separate contract if coming from two different houses.
Also checked on kakaku and hikkoshi zamurai and there’s no option for moving from two different places to one place.

Well isn’t that the same as moving two times? What is different between that and moving twice?
They gave you the answer. You get two different estimates and contracts. It’s literally two moving jobs.
Is renting a kei truck or something and consolidating stuff in one place, or just using the same truck to move your stuff by yourself not an option?
I once had a moving service move stuff from an apartment and from my storage locker as one job, they added extra cost though. It does seem not usual.
It is technically two moves but I have done and move from a apartment and a storage unit at the same time. ~5min walk. but yea if its a different house they prolly want to get twice the fee since it is two houses. Might be better to just rent a truck.

If I recall, when my darling wife and I moved to our new Shaque d’Amor after getting hitched, we just hired a hatchback car. Her place was cupboard-sized, and I was living in a, uh, furnished squat, so my gear was fairly portable.
I think we did it in a few trips altogether.
For the moving dudes, this might be the first time that anyone has ever asked for this. They might not have the right procedures programmed into their guys, and the one lady who is only allowed to carry light stuff.
I used a Chinese owned service when we moved together. They only charged us once for moving two residences into one home but we had to help move all the things. It was about 1.5万円

Search for Fukuhara moving service. The dude is flexible for unusual requests. But his truck is small.
just go to facebook and find some moving from foreigners. Cheaper and you can negotiate anything
