Business trip to vietnam

3 years since i travelled for work. PR living in Tokyo going to Vietnam (Saigon) for work in July for a week.

Can anyone who has traveled recently help with explaining the procedures and any hints:

– get travel insurance
– get PCR test 72 hrs before return (any recommended clinics in Ho Chi Minh?)
– Do I need to do any procedures (SOS App for fast track entry? other forms?)
– I have a certificate showing three vax shots (print). Is that enough I should I get that data into a digital form? into SOS?

I haven’t been paying attention to any of the travel related threads and when I search the info seems outdated so any help appreciated.

  1. First, check the Facebook “Return to Japan Support Group” group to see if anyone’s got local help. I just returned from San Francisco and got tips from there.

The MySOS app is used to prove your status when you return, so you can avoid quarantine. Install it and add your information. You’ll scan your vax form into it.

  2. Dont drink anything from cups or glasses in Vietnam. Always drink from a closed petbottle or beer can.

  3. I came back last week from a week’s trip. To answer your questions:

You’re supposed to have travel insurance according to a vn govt site, but I read no one checks. I didn’t get it and no one checked.

I flew Vietjet and they provided a free PCR test. I redeemed a voucher at this site (https://vietnamkhoemanh.vn/eng/xetnghiem) but I think you can pay out of pocket too. I chose the option for someone to come to my hotel for the test. Very convenient and used the emailed digital results form.

    You need the SOS App.

    Physical is fine.
