Need recommendation for neck masseuse

Hello, I tried searching for recommendations for neck massage on this sub but couldn’t find any posts post 2020 so here goes.

Have been having recurring neck pains due to staring at a screen 8 hours a day. Would like to find a masseuse that can help alleviate neck pain in Tokyo area (I live near jiyugaoka station so anywhere closeby is fine). Have been to a few but they don’t really do a good job at massaging the neck. Thanks in advance!

  1. My wife got me a spa ticket last year and I used it just a month ago at a spa called Roopsコルギ

I got a shoulder/neck massage with a facial mask treatment. They also did some stuff that supposedly made my face look more symmetric(?) Not sure if that worked or not.

I do know that I no longer have pain in my shoulders when I do shoulder exercises in the gym. The course I got normally costs about 1万円

  2. Don’t go to a masseuse, find a hospital with a massage therapist. I see one twice a week for a messed up hamstring and they know their stuff. Once a doctor has seen you, you can start a routine of going regularly until you feel completely better. (I’m sorry not in Tokyo)

  3. Just get the dedicated neck roller/massage devices and do it for free yourself. Been doing that full body for 10 years as an athlete, never needed to pay anyone by learning how to properly stretch and foam roll myself anytime something pops up.

  4. One of the few documented benefits of acupuncture is neck pain relief. A massage is nice. Having someone dry needle the hell out of your tissue, priceless.

On top of that, check out Original Strength on YouTube. Their books are good, but my guess is that the head nods and rocking alone would sort you out some.

  5. Depending on the cause of the pain, you might do better by visiting an orthopedic doctor. 整形内科クリニック. They will have trained medical massage therapists.
